Project Productions, LLC was founded in 1999 by Melanie Perkins McLaughlin. With over 20 years of broadcast production experience Project Productions, LLC offers clients truth in storytelling with a commitment to social justice. As a former ward of the state Melanie has made it her life’s work to improve outcomes for marginalized children.
Melanie has worked on films for PBS, ABC, HBO, the BBC, the History and Discovery Channels. McLaughlin produced, directed and narrated the Emmy award-winning story of trauma and resilience, “Have You Seen Andy?” the true story of the disappearance of her 10-year old childhood friend, Andy Puglisi, who Melanie was with the day he vanished from Lawrence, MA. Melanie’s motto in life and storytelling is “The only way out is through” a sentiment from another Lawrence, MA native, Robert Frost.
McLaughlin received her bachelor of science in communications / media and human services as well as an honorary PhD from Fitchburg State University, a Massachusetts Senate Citation for her work on behalf of missing children and recently graduated with a masters degree in education policy and management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
